1999/2000 Challenge - "Row-by-Row Quilts"

The Stitch Witches decided that their second challenge should be a single bed-sized quilt. Each "Witch" chose a theme and colour scheme and made the first row which measured 12" x 36". This was put into a bag with a metre of fabric, a notebook and an instruction sheet with completion dates and rota (for passing on to the next "Witch"). Subsequent rows were alternately 9" or 12" deep and the bags with seven completed rows were eventually returned to the original "Witch" for completion. The different colour schemes and themes of the seven quilts reflect the different interests of each "Witch" and can be seen below.

These quilts were entered into the Group Quilts section of Quilts UK at Malvern in 2000.
