My first experience of sewing was doing dressmaking in which I was self taught. When
retirement
loomed I felt that I would need to have some sort of hobby and saw some Patchwork & Quilting classes
advertised in the local
paper. I decided to attend and got hooked! I then went on to do City & Guilds Pt.1 with Maryel
and that was where we met Ann,
Julia, Kate, Lois, Margaret and Terry. (Ann and Margaret have since moved on)
I
found that I enjoyed the challenge of
broadening the basic techniques to my own style. I have since attended several
workshops in the UK, France and the USA and have
used these new processes in my own way to develop further. The more
difficult the challenge, the better, as I like to push the
boundaries in order to achieve a satisfactory end result.
